For a foreign student who wants to study in Japan, he/she may need to pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test(JLPT) or Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students(EJU) in order to prove that he/she can understand Japanese at a level.
I came to Japan and study from 2008, before I came to Japan, I just joined a Japanese class in Hong Kong for only a month and I could hardly recognize all the hiragana. Then I went to a language school called Yamano Japanese Language School to take a year and a half course.
Yamano Japanese Language School is a language school under the group of YAMANO GAKUEN. Since it is located at Yoyogi, I can go to Shinjuku, Harajuku,Shibuya or many other downtown places by Yamanote line.
I was studying at a afternoon class at the first half year because only the high level classes are taught in the morning. All of my classmatea are foreigner but some of them are also Hong Kong people so I didn't feel lonely at that time. Teachers of this school are all Japanese except some office staff are Chinese and Korean who are supposed to help students in speaking of their mother languages.
Although teachers can only speak Japanese, they are very patient to listen and try to understand students' horrible Japanese all the time.
After a hard working for 6 months, I was allowed to get into a morning class. My class teacher, Ms. NAKAZAWA, was so nice and great that she even treated me as her daughter. I was so nervous to be in a higher level class and my classmates can speak Japanese very well. I wanted to study at a middle level class and to be with my friends but the principal didn't allowed me to do that.
Ms.NAKAZAWA look after me for a long time until I was able to follow the class and made friends in my own class. My result became better and better every exam after I used to this class.I had more time to enjoy my Japan life after school with my friends.
When the JLPT and EJU exam were coming closer, all the students and teachers were look like in a war.Since the principal ordered all the students must take the JLPT and EJU even they were not going to study in Japan anymore, we had lots of exercise every lesson. Teachers gave us the papers and then we finished them as fast as we could, then the second paper came. This kind of school life repeated again and again until the day we went to take the exam. It was hard but it did worth.
I passed both of them in a very high score. This made Ms.NAKAZAWA and the principal very happy. I decided to go to a Japanese University after that. Lots of discussion with my parents and my teacher, thousands of certificate need to be prepared and many practice before the interview.
At the end of TIU interview, interviewer Ms.KAWAMURA(who became my seminar teacher in year 1)told me to work hard after I came to TIU and I reported this to Ms.NAKAZAWA. She told me that it was not common to hear interviewer said something like that which means I may probably get into this university.
I was so excited but I kept this in my mind only until the day I received the notification of passing the interview. I told my teachers immediately and they were so proud of me. They hoped me to have a great school life in the university, TIU.
Last, Ms.NAKAZAWA is still having contact with me even I graduated and I'm very happy about this.
